shrouded in mists seeking solace 

amid conifers plus the fuzzy authority 

of plant-based products in old-growth forests 

as stately vault-like complexes 

block-to-block investigating botanical knowledge 

from the banks of the Bronx to the Amazon’s

algorithmic field projects on the spot 

of a floral renaissance centuries apart …
